World Jewish Congress at Vatican

As the newly elected President of the World Jewish Congress, it is appropriate that one of my first official visits in this capacity should be to the Vatican ... We hope that the meeting of Cardinals and Rabbis held in New York some years ago will be repeated and become a regular part of our common agenda. The meeting between cardinals and rabbis which Ron Lauder references above--which he hopes will become a regular part of the Vatican-Judaic common agenda--was a visit to NY yeshivas (Talmud schools) where cardinals studied Talmud with rabbis and their students.
