Orthodox Judaic Attorney General Mukasey to Light 30' tall Menorah on White House Lawn

Mukasey to light menorah

Michael Mukasey, the U.S. attorney-general, will light the Chabad Lubavitch chanukiyyah on the Ellipse in front of the White House.

Mukasey, who is an Orthodox Jew, will light what has come to be known as the "national menorah" on Tuesday evening, the first night of Hanukah. The U.S. Marine Band will provide musical accompaniment.

The event is organized by American Friends of Lubavitch and will be broadcast on satellite radio and on the web. Information is available at (Jewish Telegraph Agency, November 30, 2007)

Visit the Chabad Lubavitch official "National Menorah" website for photos of last year's 30' tall menorah lighting on the White House elipse:

"Rabbi Levi Shemtov, Chabad's representative in Washington, bears certain similarities to the menorah whose lighting he engineers each year on the White House lawn: big, warm and impossible to ignore...

"Shemtov's highest profile event is still the menorah lighting on the White House lawn. This year's lighting will be held Sunday at 4 p.m., with a musical peformance by the National Menorah Electric Dreidel Orchestra and The Three Cantors. Honors will go to Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, who is Jewish.

"It's a brazen mark of influence, especially as the menorah lighting claims to speak for an American Jewish community that traditionally has been uncomfortable with displays of belief on public land." ("Chabad's man makes mark in D.C.," Ron Kampeas, Washington Jewish Week, December 12, 2005)

This brazen display of influence began during Jimmy Carter's presidency:

President Jimmy Carter lights a menorah in 1979 in Lafayette Park, across the street from the North Portico of the White House.

28 years later a 30' tall eyesore appears on the White House lawn each Chanukah. But such brazen displays of influence are not at all limited to Washington D.C.

NYC to light world's largest menorah

NEW YORK (AP) — What organizers say is the world's largest menorah will be lit every night during the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, beginning Dec. 4, at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue, near Central Park.

The menorah, sponsored by the Lubavitch Youth Organization, stands 32 feet tall. The lighting of the gigantic candelabra will take place at 5:30 p.m. each night through Dec. 11, except for the Friday-Saturday Sabbath observance, when the lightings will take place at 3:40 p.m. on (Friday) Dec. 7 and 8:30 p.m. on (Saturday) Dec. 8.

The menorah is lit with oil lamps protected from the wind by specially designed glass chimneys. A cherry-picker crane provided by the Con Edison electric utility will lift the lamplighters up to kindle the flames.

If you're elsewhere during the holiday and you'd like to take part in a Hanukkah celebration, check out, which lists menorah-lightings in 486 cities in 27 countries. The holiday events, sponsored by Chabad-Lubavitch, a Jewish outreach organization, are open to the public. (USA Today, November 29, 2007)

"Hebrew Catholics" see: Khazar Talmudists

First, let me make clear that I do not use the ethnic term, "Khazar" in a derogatory way as I've seen others do quite often. I use the term because it is accurate. Moss, Barrack, Schoeman, et al, shouldn't feel the slightest bit of shame in accepting their true ethnic identity. It is neither better or worse than Italian, Irish, German, Arab, etc., ethnicity. But "Khazar-Catholic" doesn't garner quite the prestige, nor does it offer the great potential for mischief that "Hebrew-Catholic" does, and there lies the crux of the matter.

Let's look at one example of such mischief from "Hebrew Catholic," Marty Barrack:

Rabbi Yeshua spoke and taught from a background deeply imbued with the Halakha, the whole body of Jewish law embracing both the written (Torah) and oral (Talmud) traditions.

He told Thomas, Jn 14:6 “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” Halakha means, “the way,” as on a pilgrim journey.

Literally, halakha comes from the Hebrew root HLCH, which means “walk.” It derives from halakh, “he walked,” which refers to Moses and later Yeshua leading us on a pilgrim journey to the promised land. It applies the Written and Oral Torah, the Talmud, and the rabbinic legislation and commentaries to every aspect of Jewish life. Rabbi Yeshua said, “I am the Halakha.” [parenthesis in original]

Marty Barrack is babbling dementia here. Jesus Christ did not teach from the talmudic tradition. Jesus spoke as one with authority, the Word Incarnate, often quoting the biblical scripture which He authored. Christ condemned the man-made talmudic tradition repeatedly throughout the Gospels as the tradition of the elders which makes void the Word of God. Mr. Barrack is dragging his anti-biblical talmudic baggage with him into the Catholic fold and attempting to baptize a diabolical conjunction of opposites. But all the holy water in the world cannot sanctify what Christ Himself condemned.

Perhaps Barrack shouldn't be criticized too harshly when such luminaries as Alice von Hildebrand and high church prelates gush over "Jewish converts" of this type, bending over backwards to sponsor them and their Judaizing books, conferences and parish seders. The one Catholic writer who did speak against this outrage, other than Michael A. Hoffman in his pamphlet, The Role of the Merchants of Venom, Robert Sungenis, recently abandoned the example of Christ and the Apostles and censored himself in obedience to the demands of his Judaizing bishop, Kevin C. Rhoades, a preacher of the theology of mythical Auschwitz homicidal gas chambers.

Enough from me then:

The ... Jews ... omitting or scorning the Mosaic law and the prophets, follow certain traditions of their seniors concerning which the Lord rebukes them in the Gospel, saying: Why do you transgress the mandate of God and irritate Him by your traditions, teaching human doctrines and mandates? [Matthew 15;9]

Upon this sort of traditions, which in Hebrew are called the Talmud--and there is a great book among them exceeding the text of the Bible in length, in which are manifest blasphemies against God and Christ and the blessed Virgin, intricate fables, erroneous abuses, and unheard-of stupidities--they nourish and teach their sons and render them utterly alien from the doctrine of the law and the prophets ... (Pope Innocent IV, May 9, 1244 Letter to King Louis IX of France)

Pope Innocent IV makes reference to the talmudic tradition that Marty Barrack is attempting to put in Christ's mouth; a tradition of erroneous abuses and unheard-of stupidities, which renders those who adhere to it utterly alien from the law and the prophets, the very tradition which Christ condemned with His mouth, as Innocent IV plainly states. But today's bamboozled Catholics are so charmed by these deluded Khazars, and taken by the notion that they have some kind of magical blood in their veins that they'd toss the entire Gospel to go along with the "Hebrew Catholic" charade. After all, these are "chosen people"! What a great prize for the Church!

What a joke!

Give up your pagan Talmud and Kabbalah--like my Celt ancestors gave up their pagan traditions--and come to the true Catholic faith. Give up your delusional "chosen people" myth and accept your true ethnicity. It's time that this farce was ended.

"Conservative Catholic" Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia Studies Talmud with Chabad Lubavitch Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz

"Conservative Catholics" and "trads," here's your "guy on the inside:" a Talmud student of the Chabad Lubavitcher and Nasi of the recently formed Sanhedrin of "Israel," Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz.

On the Road with Rabbi Steinsaltz: 25 Years of Pre-Dawn Car Trips, Mind-Blowing Encounters, and Inspiring Conversations with a Man of Wisdom
by Arthur Kurzweil

...[Steinsaltz] has studied Talmud with Yitzchak Perlman as well as a group in Washington including the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Justice Antonin Scalia and Sen. Joseph Lieberman ...

[Of] Justice Antonin Scalia, Mr. Steinsaltz said, "There was something very wrong about one of us - we seemed to agree about so many things." A Catholic Supreme Court justice and an Orthodox rabbi and Talmudic authority found much in common.

Scalia's comrade, Nathan Lewin says Scalia believes that Talmudic training gives one a head start in U.S. jurisprudence:

“[Scalia] has commented at times on the fact that he thought that people who had a talmudic training had a head start,” Lewin said of Scalia. ("Number of Orthodox Court Clerks Jumps Thanks to Scalia," (Jennifer Siegel, Forward, Wed. Nov 21, 2007)

The Jewish Week reported that Scalia is fascinated with Talmudic law and is involved in the launch of a Talmudic law institute in Washington D.C. with Nathan Lewin, Alan Dershowitz and Noson Gurary, a Chabad Lubavitch rabbi.

B´NEI TZION Talmudic Catholics

Rabbi Richard Gamboa, Chief Rabbi of Bnei Tzion: "Catholics" of Talmudic Tradition in Latin America with Cardinal Rubiano

"B'nei Tzion" ("Sons of Zion") mix black and white--the anti-Biblical Talmudic religion of the Pharisees: Judaism, with the religion of the Old Testament Patriarchs made new in Christ.

From the B'nei Tzion FAQ:

[B’nei Tzion] members have not left Judaism. Is doctrine of B’nei Tzion that a jewish person keeps being a jewish when he accept Jesus Christ and is baptized in the Catholic Church. Believing in Jesus Christ never is a traition to the Jewish People but reaffirm the belonging to Israel and to the cultural legacy of our olders. Studying the messianity of Jesus of Nazareth is one of the more impacting and emotionant themes for all jew who makes a deep study about Prophets and Talmud, the Signs of the Times and the testimony of the Gospels and Apostolic Tradition.

Catholic-Jewish relations move forward, says AJC liaison

Catholic-Jewish relations move forward, says AJC liaison

By Paula Doyle

... Even before Pope Benedict issued the Motu Proprio, "Summorum Pontificum," expanding usage of the Tridentine Mass, Billig explained, AJC officials were in touch with the Vatican about their concerns with the 1962 missal's Good Friday General Intercessions. They have requested that the Vatican replace the Good Friday prayer with the contemporary Latin version in Paul VI's missal.

"I have faith. I have confidence that it will come about. I know the Vatican works very slowly," said Billig, who, in addition to her AJC work, has been the Rome and Vatican correspondent for "The Jerusalem Post" for over 25 years. She is an accredited member of the Holy See's Press Room corps and is currently working towards a PhD in Social Sciences/Media at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

Born in Vienna, Austria, Billig grew up in New York City where she earned an M.A. from Columbia University Teachers College. She moved to Rome in the '60s to teach at the American Overseas School of Rome where she met her Italian husband. Before joining the AJC in 2005, she worked for 18 years representing the Anti-Defamation League in its Rome office ...

Did you know that the ADL has a Rome office? Did you know that ADL Papal Knight, Joseph Lichten, a major player at the Second Vatican Council was given an office in the Vatican?

Did you know that another one of the Vatican's ADL Papal Knights, Rabbi Leon Klenicki in 1998 launched an inquisition against the heresy of "Holocaust denial"?

''The deniers of the Holocaust in Europe now have to deal with the Vatican,'' Rabbi Klenicki said. ( "Ideas & Trends; A Vatican Peace Offering Reopens War Wounds," The New York Times, Gustav Niebuhr, March 29, 1998)

On the Anniversary of the JKF Assassination

On this 44th anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy it is fitting to reflect upon certain facts. The "international community" has called for inspections of Iranian nuclear facilities. Iran has fully complied with the inspection process. Nevertheless, the Israelis and their puppets are screeching for a full scale war against Iran.

In July 1963 U.S. President John F. Kennedy pressed the Israelis to allow inspections of the Dimona nuclear facility. 4 months later, President Kennedy was assassinated according to Masonic ritual. Pressure on the Israelis to allow inspections of the Dimona nuclear facility died with JFK. The Israelis never signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, which Iran has. The Israelis have never allowed unfettered inspection of their nuclear facilities, while Iran has. The Israelis are now believed to have a large stockpile of nuclear weapons, while Iran has none. "Israel" is a hostile nation and has been attacking its neighboring countries for decades. Iran hasn't attacked another nation in centuries.

If world leaders were sane, they would be working to disarm the Israelis instead of threatening to bomb Iran.

Read the words of the last sane U.S. President to the Israeli Prime Minister on this matter:

Dear Mr. Prime Minister [Eshkol]:

It gives me great personal pleasure to extend congratulations as you assume your responsibilities as Prime Minister of Israel. You have our friendship and best wishes in your new tasks. It is on one of these that I am writing you at this time.

You are aware, I am sure, of the exchange which I had with Prime Minister Ben-Gurion concerning American visits to Israel’s nuclear facility at Dimona. Most recently, the Prime Minister wrote to me on May 27. His words reflected a most intense personal consideration of a problem that I know is not easy for your Government, as it is not for mine. We welcomed the former Prime Minister’s strong reaffirmation that Dimona will be devoted exclusively to peaceful purposes and the reaffirmation also of Israel’s willingness to permit periodic visits to Dimona.

I regret having to add to your burdens so soon after your assumption of office, but I feel the crucial importance of this problem necessitates my taking up with you at this early date certain further considerations, arising out of Mr. Ben-Gurion’s May 27 letter, as to the nature and scheduling of such visits.

I am sure you will agree that these visits should be as nearly as possible in accord with international standards, thereby resolving all doubts as to the peaceful intent of the Dimona project. As I wrote Mr. Ben-Gurion, this Government’s commitment to and support of Israel could be seriously jeopardized if it should be thought that we were unable to obtain reliable information on a subject as vital to the peace as the question of Israel’s effort in the nuclear field.

Therefore, I asked our scientists to review the alternative schedules of visits we and you had proposed. If Israel’s purposes are to be clear beyond reasonable doubt, I believe that the schedule which would best serve our common purposes would be a visit early this summer, another visit in June 1964, and thereafter at intervals of six months. I am sure that such a schedule should not cause you any more difficulty than that which Mr. Ben-Gurion proposed in his May 27 letter. It would be essential, and I understand that Mr. Ben-Gurion’s letter was in accord with this, that our scientist have access to all areas of the Dimona site and to any related part of the complex, such as fuel fabrication facilities or plutonium separation plant, and that sufficient time to be allotted for a thorough examination.

Knowing that you fully appreciate the truly vital significance of this matter to the future well-being of Israel, to the United States, and internationally, I am sure our carefully considered request will have your most sympathetic attention.

Holocaust hero accused of swindling

The Shoah business is fabulously lucrative. But the savvy Shoah businessman is always searching for alternate sources of income. Diversification, you know ...

Holocaust hero accused of swindling

Associated Press Writer

Tue Nov 20, 2:48 PM ET

PALM BEACH, Fla. - In Eastern Europe during World War II, young Aron Bielski and his three older brothers mounted what was, by most accounts, the biggest armed rescue of Jews by Jews during the Holocaust.

The Bielski brothers were acclaimed as heroes, and their exploits were chronicled in books, a documentary and a Hollywood movie coming out next year.

But now, the sole surviving Bielski brother is being called something far different — a con man.

Now 80 and known as Aron Bell, he has been arrested on charges of swindling a 93-year-old woman, a Catholic survivor of the Holocaust. Bell and his wife, Henryka, 58, are accused of tricking the old woman into giving them control of more than $250,000 in various bank accounts.

According to police, the couple then convinced the woman they were taking her on a vacation to her native Poland, and instead put her in a nursing home there, returned to Palm Beach and spent her money, nearly every penny.

The charges against the couple carry up to 90 years in prison.

Bell's attorney has strongly denied the allegations and said the old woman was going senile ...

Relatives said they are shocked at the charges against Aron Bell.

"I don't believe it," said Zvi Bielski, 56, of New York City, Zus' son. "It's totally out of character. I love him dearly. He's been very close to me. My dad was like his father during the war. I can't imagine what happened."

Authorities said the Bells befriended the elderly Janina Zaniewska, who was once imprisoned by the Nazis alongside Jews in Poland. She lived in the same Palm Beach condominium complex as the Bells.

The couple persuaded her to give them power of attorney over her bank accounts, investigators said.

In May, the Bells flew with Zaniewska to Poland under the guise of taking her to visit old friends, police said. The Bells dropped her at a nursing home and returned to Palm Beach.

Police were contacted in August by a bank manager who wondered why the Bells were withdrawing Zaniewska's money. Police eventually found Zaniewska at the nursing home.

"Thank God you found me," she told authorities, according to police.

Zaniewska returned Oct. 4. Prosecutors charged the couple with scheming to defraud Zaniewska, exploitation of the elderly and theft ...

New Testament and Catholic Schools Processed by Talmudic Dialectics

"As above, so below," so says the Hermetic tenet. What happens in Rome is happening in the local parishes. Benedict and his favorite rabbi, Jacob Neusner have demonstrated how it should be done. Background on that HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. And evidence of it's filtration down to the parishes is supplied below.

Anyone who has read the talmudic texts will recognize the dialectical pilpul at play here--the lawyerly process of synthesizing anti-biblical interpretations of biblical texts. What makes it even more diabolical here is that one of the rabbis engaged in the process is wearing a priest suit and the subject is the New Testament.

Also relevant is the method by which Benedict and Kasper's favorite Hasidic sophist, Martin Buber synthesized change and "new truths" through dialogue, a process which he called "dialogical thinking" HERE.

Workshop bridges Catholic, Jewish beliefs
By Cortney Fielding

... Searching for answers to students' probing questions, Bonar and 35 other teachers from Catholic schools across Los Angeles County participated last week in the Anti-Defamation League's fifth-annual regional "Bearing Witness" program at the American Jewish University in West Los Angeles.

Through an intensive three-day workshop of lectures and discussions led by Jewish and Catholic leaders, scholars and Holocaust survivors, the program provides Catholic school teachers with the training and resources necessary to teach their students about anti-Semitism, the Holocaust and Catholic-Jewish relations, said Matt Freedman, an associate director at the Anti-Defamation League ...

Evette Escamilla, a sixth- and seventh-grade history teacher at St. Marianne's Catholic school in Pico Rivera, said her school valued the opportunity to be part of a dialogue that could be introduced into the classroom.

"Our principal really urged us to come and participate in this week of discussion and reflection," she said. "It's wonderful that we actually get to experience this."

Escamilla said she was most intrigued by a dialogue session between a rabbi and priest, who offered up similar interpretations of events chronicled in the Christian New Testament.
After the dialectical sorcery is done and the Catholic school teachers have been processed to believe that these Talmudic Khazar swindlers are somehow related to Jesus Christ, they're compelled to transmit this mental virus to the children back at their schools:
"The person we follow as Catholics is Jewish. We can't ignore his Jewishness," said Bonar. "We can't ignore this context when we teach our own religion. Ignoring it plants these seeds of hate."

Neocon Establishment Runs Cover for Benedict

The liberal press loved JPII. The Neocon press loves Benedict XVI. Those who know John 15;18-20 will not be deceived by this Neocon puff-piece. Benedict and his papal rabbi-knights are "cleaning house" and "conserving tradition" in the spirit of Bush, Reagan and Thatcher whose legacy is invoked, a dead giveaway as to the style of "conservative" synthesis the author champions and sees in Benedict. The thread-worn "the 'conservative' pope is isolated among 'hostile' liberals" canard is also given another spin by Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor who recently pronounced that denial of the dogma of Auschwitz is a "sacrilege" HERE and who also has the support of the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland HERE.

Consider this: clarification is expected soon on certain questions pertaining to the motu proprio, Summorum Pontificum related to the traditional Latin Mass at the request of many bishops, and coincidentally, many Judaic power-brokers. It is expected that the prayer for the conversion of the Jews from the traditional Latin Good Friday liturgy will be suppressed or entirely censored (and perhaps replaced with some "elder brother" nonsense?). The illusion advanced by this article provides a smokescreen that will allow Benedict to suppress the prayer while appearing to be an embattled staunch conservative who in reality, along with his "liberal foes," prefers the ridiculous, Kabbalah-based philosophic scribblings of Hasid, Martin Buber to the logic of St. Thomas. The reality is that the "isolated pope" and his "foes" preach the theology of the "elder brothers" and the doctrine of Auschwitz in perfect unison. Conservative vestments and smokescreens from the establishment can't cover this up:

Pope gets radical and woos the Anglicans

By Damian Thompson

Telegraph UK

Two and a half years after the name "Josephum" came booming down from the balcony of St Peter's, making liberal Catholics weep with rage, Pope Benedict XVI is revealing his programme of reform. And it is breathtakingly ambitious.

The 80-year-old Pontiff is planning a purification of the Roman liturgy in which decades of trendy innovations will be swept away. This recovery of the sacred is intended to draw Catholics closer to the Orthodox and ultimately to heal the 1,000 year Great Schism. But it is also designed to attract vast numbers of conservative Anglicans, who will be offered the protection of the Holy Father if they covert en masse.

The liberal cardinals don't like the sound of it at all.

Ever since the shock of Benedict's election, they have been waiting for him to show his hand. Now that he has, the resistance has begun in earnest - and the Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, is in the thick of it.

"Pope Benedict is isolated," I was told when I visited Rome last week. "So many people, even in the Vatican, oppose him, and he feels the strain immensely." Yet he is ploughing ahead. He reminds me of another conservative revolutionary, Margaret Thatcher, who waited a couple of years before taking on the Cabinet "wets" sabotaging her reforms Benedict's pontificate moved into a new phase on July 7, with the publication of his apostolic letter Summorum Pontificum.

With a stroke of his pen, the Pope restored the traditional Latin Mass - in effect banned for 40 years - to parity with the modern liturgy. Shortly afterwards, he replaced Archbishop Piero Marini, the papal Master of Ceremonies who turned many of John Paul II's Masses into politically correct carnivals.

Cardinal Murphy-O'Connor was most displeased. Last week, he hit back with a "commentary" on Summorum Pontificum.

According to Murphy-O'Connor, the ruling leaves the power of local bishops untouched. In fact, it removes the bishops' power to block the ancient liturgy. In other words, the cardinal - who tried to stop Benedict issuing the ruling - is misrepresenting its contents.

Alas, he is not alone: dozens of bishops in Britain, Europe and America have tried the same trick.

Murphy-O'Connor's "commentary" was modelled on equally dire "guidelines" written by Bishop Arthur Roche of Leeds with the apparent purpose of discouraging the faithful from exercising their new rights.

A few years ago the ploy might have worked. But news travels fast in the traditionalist blogosphere, and these tactics have been brought to the attention of papal advisers.

This month, Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith, a senior Vatican official close to Benedict, declared that "bishops and even cardinals" who misrepresented Summorum Pontificum were "in rebellion against the Pope".

Ranjith is tipped to become the next Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, in charge of regulating worldwide liturgy. That makes sense: if Benedict is moving into a higher gear, then he needs street fighters in high office.

He may also have to reform an entire department, the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, which spends most of its time promoting the sort of ecumenical waffle that Benedict abhors.

This is a sensitive moment. Last month, the bishops of the Traditional Anglican Communion, a network of 400,000 breakaway Anglo-Catholics based mainly in America and the Commonwealth, wrote to Rome asking for "full, corporate, sacramental union".

Their letter was drafted with the help of the Vatican. Benedict is overseeing the negotiations. Unlike John Paul II, he admires the Anglo-Catholic tradition. He is thinking of making special pastoral arrangements for Anglican converts walking away from the car wreck of the Anglican Communion.

This would mean that they could worship together, free from bullying by local bishops who dislike the newcomers' conservatism and would rather "dialogue" with Anglicans than receive them into the Church.

The liberation of the Latin liturgy, the rapprochement with Eastern Orthodoxy, the absorption of former Anglicans - all these ambitions reflect Benedict's conviction that the Catholic Church must rediscover the liturgical treasure of Christian history to perform its most important task: worshipping God.

This conviction is shared by growing numbers of young Catholics, but not by the church politicians who have dominated the hierarchies of Europe for too long.

By failing to welcome the latest papal initiatives - or even to display any interest in them, beyond the narrow question of how their power is affected - the bishops of England and Wales have confirmed Benedict's low opinion of them.

Now he should replace them. If the Catholic reformation is to start anywhere, it might as well be here.

Vatican and "Israel" in a Tiff over Cash

Mobsters are wont to argue and kill each other in money and power disputes. Yet, the racket lives on. There is no argument on matters of faith here.

"Israel" not keeping its promises? This is not news.

Nuncio to Washington says Israel not keeping its promises to the Holy See

Monsignor Sambi, who was the Vatican envoy to Israel until 2005, highlights the impasse in bilateral relations, due, he believes, to the fact that the Jewish state has failed in ten years to live up to the economic and fiscal commitments it made.

Rome (AsiaNews) – “Everyone can see how much faith can be placed in Israel’s promises,” said Mgr Pietro Sambi, former Vatican nuncio to Israel (till 2005) as he talked about relations between the Holy See and the Jewish state, which he blames for not respecting the commitments it made in an agreement it signed in 1993.

Monsignor Sambi, who now is nuncio in Washington, said in an interview with that “the relations between the Catholic Church and the State of Israel were better when there were not diplomatic relations.”

“The Holy See,” he noted, “decided to establish diplomatic relations with Israel as an act of faith, accepting that the demanding promises to settle the more concrete aspects of the life of Catholic communities and the Church would be left for later.”

“The Fundamental Agreement was signed on 30 December 1993,” Monsignor Sambi said. “In addition to establishing diplomatic relations, it also entailed a Legal Personality Agreement signed in 1997 but never implemented by Israel, as well as an “economic agreement” on three issues: Church property unjustly seized or placed under unjust easement; equal compensation for services provided to the Israeli population, both Jewish and Palestinian, equivalent to those offered by state institutions; and tax status.”

“On the tax issue, the Holy See makes a simple and natural demand. It wants the recognition of the status quo that existed for the past three centuries, something that the State of Israel promised to do upon its independence in 1948, and which is implicit in the Legal Personality Agreement. This situation, which is already in place de facto with respect to tax exemption for Christian religious institutions, should be legally recognised in an international agreement.”

“At present we are in an anomalous situation. Since the Fundamental and Legal Personality Agreements have been signed, they are internationally valid, but not in Israel because Israeli law requires that any international agreement be approved by the Knesset for it to come into force on Israeli territory. And so far no one has bothered to get the Knesset’s approval.”

“After ten years of negotiations the economic agreement has not yet been signed, undercut by delays and the Israeli delegation’s limited power to negotiate, weakened that is by a lack of political will. Everyone can see how much faith can be placed in Israel’s promises! The visa problem for Catholic clerics was easier to solve when there were no diplomatic relations between the Holy See and Israel.”

“You can’t buy trust,” the nuncio said from the United States. “You build it up by respecting the agreements you sign and keeping faith to the word you give. And we are doing everything possible in the United States to bring the right pressure to bear.”

“Israel has already enough troubles with too many countries. It is just tasteless to create more of it with its friends. The current impasse in the negotiations seems strange not only to the Holy See, the Christian world and many countries friendly to Israel, but also to many Jews, honourable citizens of Israel or denizens of other countries.”

To the Owner of

Please remove the link to my blog from your website. I have no association with your completely anti-Christian and very disturbing theology which has nothing to do with Fr. Feeney but is based in the occult teachings of the Zohar, Parashat Be-Reshit, and later adopted by the Nazis. There is no demonic race of people who are beyond the saving grace of Jesus Christ--a satanic teaching of both the rabbis and the Nazis.

I pray that you will cease bringing discredit to good Catholics by associating them with your diabolical website, abandon your satanic theology and accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Orthodox Genocide

Here is an excerpt from an editorial written by a reform-minded Judaic attempting to persuade the Orthodox to reassess the rabbinic mandate to exterminate "Amalek" which endures in Orthodox Judaic teaching and in practice to this day:

... So, in the long-gone days of the Torah, there may have been a logic to waging an all-out war. Today, however, the practical application of this mitzvah [extermination of "Amalek"] in the eyes of too many fanatic believers has become an embarrassment, even a terrible one.

In our modern parlance, the Torah is commanding us to commit genocide.

If we were only speaking about theory, I wouldn't worry. But I know just how practical this command is for many people. They see Amalek as every enemy, especially the Arab-Palestinian one.

They see themselves as commanded by God, and intend to fulfill that command.

It is any surprise that Baruch Goldstein- of cursed memory – chose to erase the Palestinian Amalekites on Purim, the holiday which historically marks the victory of the Jewish people over Haman, a grandson of the cursed Amalek?

Many people admire Goldstein, his rabbis continue to produce students, prepared for the role of carrying out this mitzvah more than any other in the Torah ... ("Parshat Ki Tetze: Torah genocide," 9/16/05, ynet news)

full article:,7340,L-3142973,00.html

If one reads through the comments in response to the editorial one can surmise that this genocidal rabbinic teaching will not be given up easily by the Orthodox and that those who attempt to reform it will meet great hostility, but not nearly as much as the human beings labeled 'Amalek.',7340,L-3142973,00.html

"Elder Brothers in the Faith" Hate the Central Symbol of our Faith

Increasingly more open hatred for the cross, childish lying, ridiculous demands: such are the fruits of religious relations with "The Jews." Replacing the pectoral cross with a pectoral Auschwitz gas chamber pendant wouldn't be enough to satisfy these self-obsessed "elder brothers." Theologically, that switch has already taken place.

Austrian bishops barred from Jewish holy site in Jerusalem for wearing crosses

The Associated Press
November 12, 2007

JERUSALEM: Thirteen Austrian bishops were barred from praying at Jerusalem's Western Wall last week by Jewish religious authorities when they refused to take off their crosses, according to Austrian officials.

On a planned visit on Thursday to the wall — the holiest place where Jews can pray — the bishops were given an ultimatum by the rabbi of the site: Either remove the crosses or stand behind a fence several meters (yards) from the site. The bishops refused the request and watched people praying from behind the fence, according to an Austrian official.

"They were a bit disappointed they were not let into the wall," said Arad Benko, spokesman for the Austrian embassy. "It was a disappointing moment." He said the bishops were not informed before the visit that wearing the crosses would be a problem.

Shmuel Rabinowitz, the rabbi of the Western Wall, said that while the site is open to all religions, worshippers are expected not to offend the sensitivities of Jews.

"Appearing like that at the wall plaza and at a meeting with me is insulting and provocative," Rabinowitz told the Israeli daily Maariv. "I told them that the pope didn't show up at the wall with a cross, but hid it."

On a historic visit to the holy land in 2000, Pope John Paul II prayed at the Western Wall, stuffing a prayer between the cracks — a Jewish ritual to ask God to fulfill a wish. Pictures show the pope wearing a cross while praying.

The 13 bishops were in Israel attending the annual Austrian Bishops Conference, held in the Holy Land for the first time. Led by the Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Schoenborn, the bishops visited several sites, including the town of Bethlehem and Israel's Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem. They planned to pray at the Western Wall before they were turned away ...

Listen to Fr. Charles Coughlin's Radio Addresses

The establishment has never stopped slandering and smearing the great American and gifted orator, Fr. Charles Coughlin since he rose to prominence in the 1930's as one of the nation's first modern media political spokesmen with an audience said to be as large as 40 million. Fr. Coughlin undoubtedly had great influence in the United States and he used his influence to generate opposition to the murderous Nazi regime of Adolph Hitler and the ever more murderous regime of "Uncle" Joe Stalin whom few of Fr. Coughlin's enemies would ever utter a word against, much less the blood-drenched "Russian" Bolsheviks.

Fr. Coughlin was able to see the dialectic between the tyrannical anti-Christian regimes of both Nazism and Communism and he refused to support either. He fought with all of his strength to alert Americans to the plans of the warmongering Cheneys, Wolfowitzes and Ledeens of his day and he did this not on a blog with a few thousand readers but through the most advanced mainstream media technology of the day, the radio, reaching tens of millions of listeners in his weekly major network broadcasts. Naturally, B'nai B'rith, the ADL, WJC and AJC, et al, would do everything in their power to destroy such a courageous, influential, true Christian speaker with so many listeners. Indeed, their attack has never ceased. So successful have they been in blackening Fr. Coughlin's name that even the most "militant" "traditional" Catholics will not mention it above a whisper, if at all. But in his day, Fr. Coughlin had strong support from a large percentage of the entire U.S. population: Catholic and non-Catholic.

The accusations heaped upon Fr. Coughlin are too many and too absurd to even address and the slanders innumerable. I ask that people listen to his addresses and decide for themselves if the extreme hatred directed towards Fr. Coughlin is based upon any great fault of his, or based in the fact that he had the dirt on a great many subversives working in the U.S. I'm assured that those who take the time to listen will hear in his account an unmistakable resemblance to our present dilemma.

Fr. Coughlin left some things to be desired in his approach. He cited the "Protocols," as did Fr. Denis Fahey, when it was not necessary to reference questionable documents, and when doing so only supplied his enemies with ammunition. He also posited a bad/good dialectic between "atheistic 'Jews'" and "religious 'Jews'." But these faults cannot overshadow Fr. Coughlin's many virtues and accomplishments.

For any true Christian with any sense of patriotism to forsake the example of courageous leadership given by Fr. Coughlin and allow his legacy to be demolished is an unspeakable betrayal. We could sure use a Fr. Coughlin right now.

Fr. Coughlin's radio addresses from 1937-1940 are archived and available for download for free, here:

U.S. Attorney General Position Goes to Talmud Adherent

Michael Mukasey confirmed as attorney general

(CNN) -- After weeks of controversy over Michael Mukasey's views on waterboarding, the Senate late Thursday approved the former judge's nomination for attorney general by a 53-40 vote.

President Bush nominated Mukasey to replace longtime ally Alberto Gonzales, who resigned in September.

Background on Orthodox Judaic Mukasey and his adherance to the rabbinic Kol Nidre tradition of deceit here:

Bush Nominates Kol Nidre Upholding Talmudist for U.S. Attorney General

SPLC Thought Cops Smeared St. Benedict Center

The SPLC's predictably slanderous report is online here:

and the St. Benedict Center's reply here:

While I applaud the St. Benedict Center for it's unflinching opposition to the hateful, anti-Christian racket of Judaism I would urge them to consider avoiding identifying today's Talmudist/Kabbalist, Zionist, Atheist, Communist, etc., persons of Judaic background as "Jews." Adherence to these and other ideologies--all of which either turn the Bible upside down or outright reject it--render any spiritual claim to the title "Jew" void. Neither is there any merit to claims that these people are ethnic descendants of Judah or Benjamin or that they have ancestors from Judea.

There is hardly a word more misunderstood and misapplied today, and with such great consequences, than the word "Jew." I believe that the authors of the articles at the St. Benedict Center website understand the distinctions themselves very well, however, it leaves room for misinterpretation among the lesser informed if the term "Jew" is used for expediency where "Zionist," "Talmudist" or "Atheist of Judaic background," for instance, would be clearer. There is so much confusion surrounding the title, "Jew" and so much at stake that we should be doing whatever possible to clarify it whenever possible.

Further, the rabbis teach their followers that the Gentiles hate "The Jews" no matter what they do, so if we criticize "The Jews" without clear distinction we're validating the rabbis' paranoid teachings and driving Judaic persons further under their control. Criticisms should be of specific individuals and organizations based upon specific acts of wrongdoing or adherance to the ideology of Judaism and it's offshoots. These ideologies exist completely independent of any ethnicity. In truth, there is no "Jewish" ethnicity to speak of. Those who today call themselves "Jews" are of Khazar, Arab-Berber, Ethiopian ethnicity, among others, who converted to Judaism long after the destruction of the Temple. With the Temple birth records being destroyed along with the Temple 2000 years ago, only God knows who the true ethnic Jews are today. This tells me that after Christ, Jewish ethnicity is no more relevant to us than animal sacrifice or circumcision.

The reality is that today's so-called "Jews" are people just like anyone else with no unique mystical identity either good or evil, but with the unfortunate circumstance of having a background in a tyrannical, tribalistic, anti-Biblical ideology which is extremely difficult to break free of. I believe that many would like to leave "the tribe" and the tyranny of the rabbis if they felt assured that we don't hate all "Jews" as the rabbis claim. Many of these people would be severing familial ties and subjected to hostilities if they broke rank.

Let us be as clear as possible that our opposition is not to "Jews" but to the ideology of Judaism and it's offshoots and the behavior which those ideologies engender. Consider, also, that the smearmongers exploit the conditioned response of the masses to loathe anything critical of "the Jews." If they're in a position of "defending" "the Jews" their work is easy. Better to put them in the position of having to either defend the genocidal racism of the Zohar, for instance, or leave you alone.

More Double-Speak on St. John Chysostom from Benedict XVI

Pope says saint preferred people live by, not applaud, his homilies

By Carol Glatz
Catholic News Service

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- St. John Chrysostom, a popular and eloquent preacher, preferred that his parishioners follow his teachings and not just applaud his homilies, Pope Benedict XVI said.

The pope said it was very important to this fourth-century doctor of the church that the applause his inspiring homilies generated did not mask the fact that the Gospel, not he, was the source of his stirring talks.

The pope made his comments on the occasion of the 1,600th anniversary of the death of St. John Chrysostom, former patriarch of Constantinople, now Istanbul, Turkey.

The pope's remarks, drafted in a letter dated Aug. 10, were made public Nov. 8 for the opening of a Nov. 8-10 international congress on the saint in Rome. The Vatican released to journalists a copy of the letter Nov. 8.

The pope wrote that St. John Chrysostom "lamented sometimes because, too often, the same assembly that applauded his homilies ignored the very exhortations (he made) to live the Christian life authentically" ...

Full article:

Keeping that thought in mind, I offer one of many pertinent examples from St. John Chrysostom's preaching which Benedict lauds, but does not live by:

For if the enemies of the truth never have enough of blaspheming our Benefactor, we must be all the more tireless in praising the God of all. But what am I to do? Another very serious illness calls for any cure my words can bring, an illness which has become implanted in the body of the Church. We must first root this ailment out and then take thought for matters outside; we must first cure our own and then be concerned for others who are strangers ...

... There are many in our ranks who say they think as we do. Yet some of these are going to watch the festivals and others will join the Jews in keeping their feasts and observing their fasts. I wish to drive this perverse custom from the Church right now. My homilies against the Anomians can be put off to another time, and the postponement would cause no harm. But now that the Jewish festivals are close by and at the very door, if I should fail to cure those who are sick with the Judaizing disease. I am afraid that, because of their ill-suited association and deep ignorance, some Christians may partake in the Jews' transgressions; once they have done so, I fear my homilies on these transgressions will be in vain. For if they hear no word from me today, they will then join the Jews in their fasts; once they have committed this sin it will be useless for me to apply the remedy ... (St. John Chrysostom, Adversus Judaeos, Homily I)

Believe me, I shall risk my life before I would neglect any one who is sick with this disease-if I see him. If I fail to see him, surely God will grant me pardon. And let each one of you consider this matter; let him not think it is something of secondary importance. Do you take no notice of what the deacon continuously calls out in the mysteries? "Recognize one another", he says. Do you not see how he entrusts to you the careful examination of your brothers? Do this in the case of Judaizers, too. When you observe someone Judaizing, take hold of him, show him what he is doing, so that you may not yourself be an accessory to the risk he runs. (St. John Chrysostom, Adversus Judaeos, Homily IV)

Contrast St. John Chrysostom's condemnations of Judaizing with the Judaizing of Benedict XVI in his address to the Chief Rabbis of "Israel":

With an open heart I welcome you here today, and express my appreciation of the fact that your visit intends to emphasize the positive results that have come from the Second Vatican Council's declaration Nostra Aetate, the fortieth anniversary of which we are commemorating this year. I see your visit as a further step forward in the process of building deeper religious relations between Catholics and Jews, a course which has received new impulse and energy from Nostra Aetate and from the many forms of contact, dialogue and co-operation that have their origin in the principles and spirit of that document. The Church continues to make every effort to implement the Council's vision of a new era of better mutual understanding, respect and solidarity between us ... (Address of Benedict XVI to the Chief Rabbis of Israel, Friday, 15 September 2005)

A Heartwarming Elder Brother Tale

Hatred of the cross and classification of its veneration as idolatry, asinine legalism, mercilessness, ... that's our rabbinic "elder brothers in the faith" all right.

... This reminded [Chief Rabbi of "Israel," Yona Metzger] of one of his last meetings with Pope John Paul II a few years ago and what unfolded as a result of that particular encounter in the Vatican. It was less than a year before the pope passed away and he was rather ill and somewhat infirm. Rabbi Metzger is tall—probably about 6'4"—and he was concerned that he would have to bow his head and lean in to greet the pope and shake his hand. The concern was that as a result of this movement he would be bowing down to the crucifix that hung around the pope’s neck, which would be an act tantamount to bowing to an idol, a halachically prohibited act. He sought the guidance of Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv on this matter, and the elderly posek instructed Rabbi Metzger to stand erect and just extend his hand directly to the pope.

At their encounter in Rome, Rabbi Metzger did as instructed, and he related that in fact upon reaching out to the pope, the pope pulled himself up from his chair and bowed forward to welcome Rabbi Metzger ... ("Long Beach Magic," Larry Gordon, November 08, 2007, 5 Towns Jewish Times)

Police: Jewish GW Student Admits Putting Swastikas On Her Door

November 5, 2007

WASHINGTON -- George Washington University officials said a Jewish student who complained about swastikas showing up on her door put them there herself.

The student lives in Mitchell Hall, where half a dozen swastikas had shown up on her dorm room door in the past several weeks.

University police set up a hidden camera. They said the girl admitted responsibility Monday.

News 4 interviewed the student last week after the fifth swastika was discovered. She did not want to be identified.

"It's a big story," said Jake Sherman, GW Hatchet editor. "Thirty percent of GW students are Jewish"

Reporters at the GW Hatchet newspaper have been following the story since it began. They said they learned on Monday morning that the alleged victim would likely be implicated.

They said they spoke to her twice by phone.

According to reporters at the newspaper, the student said, "I wasn't looking to create this sort of insanity. I wasn't looking to become a media darling. I was just looking for acknowledgment from the university that someone drew a swastika on the door."

The student now faces disciplinary action from the school and could face criminal charges.

The Role of the Merchants of Venom

The following is the preface to the pamphlet, "The Role of the Merchants of Venom" by Michael A. Hoffman II:

"The purpose of this writing is to demonstrate that hatred of Judaic people is exactly the sentiment that the rabbis seek to induce in the goyim (gentiles). This secret tactic is propounded in the Zohar.

If one hates Judaics or is part of an organization or subscribes to an ideology that has it's foundation in the hatred of Judaic people, one is fulfilling the expectations of the Talmudic and Kabbalistic rabbis and playing directly into their hands. Ultimately, "Jew haters" are puppets of rabbis; they are acting a role in a psychodrama scripted by the Gemara and the Kabbalah.

Victory over Judaism and Zionism can only be achieved by detesting the wicked and murderous Judaic and Zionist ideologies and fearlessly exposing them for what they are, while loving those who have been deluded by or through them, including those who are advocates and practitioners of these most toxic of all ideologies. The strategy is not based on mystical, religious "Churchianity," but upon the science of human relations as it applies to the psychology of paranoid totalitarian systems. This is the highest teaching one can impart on this subject and the only effective means of overcoming Judaism and Zionism.

Those who have gained significant inside knowledge of Zionism and Judaism have historically fallen into the trap of hating Judaics, and as a result, either have had their power manipulated, coopted and redirected, as did Henry Ford and Adolph Hitler, or were neutralized and subsequently collapsed into oblivion and defeat; examples of the latter being to lengthy to enumerate.

Proud to Be Hated

By Boruch Younger

Last week we discussed how the sentiment of hate for the Jews felt throughout the ages has nothing to do with our behavior, rather it is a fact of life similar to gravity. Hashem fabricated it this way in order to keep us separate from the people and culture that surround us ready to engulf us. We quoted the Meshech Chochma who comments on the teva of Yidden to advance and integrate in any society, thus endangering their future as the Jewish people. Therefore every time they rise to a level where they feel comfortable and at home, a wind of hate suddenly blows them away from their high status and they are forced to start all over again. Knowing that the source of the hate we face is the same sentiment that Esav has for Yaakov and all subsequent generations respectively, is somewhat soothing and fills us with pride at being in good company to be hated for being Hashem's Chosen People.

The timely, excellent pamphlet by Michael A. Hoffman, "The Role of the Merchants of Venom" can be ordered at the following link:

Rabbinic Control through Psychodrama: "Esau" Genetically Programmed to Irrationally Hate "Jacob"

Rabbi Ken Spiro explains that it is "Hashem's" design that "Esau" (associated with Rome, Christendom, Gentiles) hates "Jacob" ("The Jews"):

Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, who wrote the chief work of the Kabbalah, the Zohar, some 2,000 years, said that "It's a known law that Esau hates Jacob." These are the spiritual laws of reality, so to speak, that describe the interaction between the Jews and descendants of Esau. This deep-seated hatred is deeply embedded in the collective conscience of the descendants of Esau and especially concentrated in the descendants of Amalek. As we will see later, the nation of Amalek is no longer identifiable, but his spirit lives on. To understand the relationship and rivalry between Jacob and Esau is [to] understand the deeply-rooted anti-Semitism of those nations that emerged from Rome. No matter what happens, the descendants of Esau are going to hate the Jews. (Rabbi Ken Spiro, "Crash Course in Jewish History, Isaac and his Sons)

This was emailed in by a reader of this blog:

This is a few days old, and you may have already seen it, but I thought I'd bring it to your attention in case you missed it. It is one of those statements in which a rabbi or anonymous cyber-based imposter-rabbi calls to mind the role played by the essential wickedness of the goyim in the story of Judaic destiny.

ADL survey: 15% of Americans 'unquestionably anti-Semitic'

See comment 55.

The Torah says that Gentiles hate Jews. Period

Name: Rabbi Yechiel Cohen

"Sorry to burst your bubble. I am. 'Esau hates Jacob' a verse in Genisis means according to the Talmud that ALL Gentiles harbor hatred for Jews. Tragic, no? However this is a blessing. Huh? Yes. Since this will keep the Jews from dissapearing. How? Since when the Jews will desire to lose their identity in the Gentile populations G-d will stir up animosity against the Jews. Thereby preventing assimilation. Beautifull, no?"

Vatican Scholars Respond to Muslim Letter to Pope

The Vatican's response to the recent letter sent to the pope by 138 Muslim scholars on October 11 contains the requisite syncretistic prose, but upon consideration of certain stubborn facts it's quite plain to see that Islam would be required to give up as much of its identity in "reconciliation" as Christianity has while rabbinic Judaism maintains its tradition wholly intact.

The Vatican scholars congratulate the signers of the Muslim letter for distancing themselves from the Islamic concept of "umma" and making themselves "partners in humanity." However, religious dialog with "The Jews" has not been based upon the same contingency--that the tribe of "Jews," give up their separatism and assimilate into humanity. Far from it. The document goes on to reference the "difference," "problem" and "obstacle" of dealing with religious freedom in dialog with Muslims while the extreme intolerance and outright hostility of Judaism to other religions is never considered and at times has been insanely transformed into a basis for "hope for better relations." The Vatican scholars also praise the Muslim signers for distancing themselves from the concept of preferential treatment for the Muslim umma, while on the other hand, embracing the Noahide system of preferential treatment for "Jews." Further, it has been reported that the pope could not sign the Vatican response to the Muslim scholars due to "baroque" protocol. This excuse is ridiculous in light of the wreckage of traditional Vatican protocol strewn all around the monster called, "'Jewish'-Catholic" dialog.

Anyone who believes that this apparent syncretism is directed towards a "New Age" religion where all are equally blended into one is not keeping an accurate score.

Vatican: Catholic scholars respond to Muslim Letter to Pope

Members of the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI) of Rome, issued the following statement in response to the letter sent by 138 Muslim scholars to Pope Benedict XVI and other Christian leaders on October 11.

A Common Word Between Us and You

"An Open Letter and Call From Muslim Religious Leaders" to leaders of different Christian Churches as a festive message on the occasion of the ending of the fast of Ramadan 1428/2007, and on the first anniversary of the 2006 "Open Letter of 138 Muslim Scholars to Pope Benedict XVI", is a highly significant event that we cannot fail to notice and must accentuate its importance.

Accordingly, as members of staff of the Rome Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI), concerned particularly with relations between Christians and Muslims, we believe it is our duty to express our viewpoint on this document.

In an attempt to enter with an open mind into the dynamic of this event just as it appears, we would like to register all that we appreciate in the presentation and content of these pages. We are convinced of the good faith of those who produced it, purified by their lengthy fast during Ramadan. Our long and diligent association with the cultural and religious patrimony of Islam, as well as our regular contacts with members of the Muslim community enables us to take note of the originality of this gesture and entitles us to draw the attention of non-Muslims to it qualities.

Firstly, we were impressed by the broad scope of this text. Its breadth at the level of the signatories, one hundred and thirty-eight Muslim personalities from numerous countries of every continent, whose religious affiliations demonstrate a great variety. There was breadth also at the level of the addressees, all leaders of different Christian Churches, including twenty-eight named explicitly.

Partners with humanity

In the same line of observation, we highlight the extent of the area under consideration: Muslims, Christians, Jews and people worldwide. The authors of the letter do not seek refuge in a convenient one-sided protest on behalf of the "umma," but on the contrary, place themselves as partners within humanity. For it, they offer their way of perceiving its foundations and principles, accepted also by other communities, in view of its survival in an effectual and general peace.

The broad sweep of its perspectives is also a noteworthy feature of this text. Admittedly, its authors are interested in the fate of the present world, at stake here and now, but also in that of the 'eternal souls', a destiny determined elsewhere and in the future. This dual aim, at once immanent and transcendent, runs a strong and liberating current throughout this discourse.

Naturally, we are equally struck by the fundamental character of the issue in question: God and humankind. It is much easier to confine oneself to ideas that are all the more generous for being vague and general, than to call attention in this way to the urgency of God's rights and those of humanity that demand continual awareness and an active and concrete love from each individual.

We are also keenly aware of the special treatment that the signatories of this letter give to the supreme point of reference that under girds "the other" as Jew or Christian, namely, the dual commandment of love of God and neighbour in Deuteronomy and in Matthew's Gospel. This willingness to acknowledge another person in the deepest desire of what he or she wants to be seems to us one of the key points of this document. Only this can guarantee success in a genuine relationship between culturally and religiously diverse communities.

At the same time, we appreciate the way the authors of this text, as Muslims, see the proper definition of their own identity in these two commandments. They do so not by compliance or by

Politicking, but truly, solely on the basis of their proclamation of divine uniqueness, (al-tawhîd), the pivot of Muslim belief. Indeed, we acknowledge that the radical acceptance of divine uniqueness is one of the most authentic expressions of love owed to God alone. In addition, as faith always goes together with good works, as the Koran never fails to repeat, (al-ladîna âmanû wa 'amilû al-sâlihât : al-Baqara 2, 25), love of God is inseparable from love of neighbour.

Diverse communities

We are grateful to those who challenge us, thus underlining the agreement over the essential that underpins our diverse communities of believers, nonetheless keeping a realistic and bold vision in place. In effect, on the one hand, they do not erase the differentiation of our Christological options and on the other, they do not disregard the problem of religious freedom (lâ ikrâha fî l-dîn : al-Baqara 2, 256), which they consider a crucial issue.

This realism does not prevent them from having a positive view concerning obstacles and differences that remain between us. This means that faithful to the Koranic tradition that inspires them, they only see in it an opportunity for competition in the pursuit of the common good, (fa-stabiqû l-hayrât : al-Mâ'ida 5, 48).

Undoubtedly, this positive view of problems enabled them to avoid controversy, to surpass themselves, to shoulder and ignore their disappointment to a response that did not rise to their expectations in the outcome of their letter of 2006 addressed to Pope Benedict XVI.

Reading this document, we notice on their part the presence of a new and creative attitude relative to the Koranic text and that of the Prophetic tradition. This is in reference to certain historical interpretations, marked by particular situations that made access relatively restricted as far as the consideration of non-Muslims was concerned. In particular, we have in mind the general application they give to the Âl 'Imrân 3, 113-115 verses, relative to 'a staunch community who recite the revelations of God in the night season, falling prostrate,' that many commentators had up to then considered only in relation to Christians on the point of converting.

We are pleased to see that the biblical and Gospel quotations used in this document come from the sources and that explanations given are on occasion based on the original languages: Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. This is evidence of deep respect and genuine attentiveness to others, while at the same time of a true scientific spirit. In this respect also, we note the emergence of a new attitude.

In conclusion, we wish to insist on the a priori positive attitude of the writers of this text in their interpretation of the three parallel passages in the Synoptic Gospels. They could have chosen a much more restrictive and minimalist exegesis with which the Christian tradition would have provided them without difficulty and of which they were surely aware.

Inspired by their attitude, we also would only hold to the maximum interpretation according to which the texts of the Koran and the Prophetic tradition do not only restrict to members of the umma the benefits that any good Muslim may lavish on his neighbour, for the sake of his faith in God and in his exclusive love for him.

Differences in our languages and in our hues, (ihtilâf alsinati-kum wa alwâni-kum: al-Rûm 30, 22), that is, our deep cultural differences, will be far from engendering suspicion, distrust, contempt and dissension in us, as it often turned out in the history of our relations and still is the case in the world today. Such a document encourages us to pursue our commitment with determination, so that these variations will be seen as signs for those who know, (inna fî dâlika la-âyâtin li-l-'âlimîna), that is, as the mercy of Our Lord.

42 Years Later, Nostra Aetate Yields Ever More Rotten Fruit

The "Great Work" which the Vatican II document,Nostra Aetate set in motion 42 years ago this week has only yet begun. It is intended that every layperson will be as deeply involved with the rabbis as the bishops are.

Catholic-Jewish ties reinforce society

By Patrick Connelly

Post Comment

(November 1, 2007) — This week marks the 42nd anniversary of Nostra Aetate, the landmark document of the Second Vatican Council, which forever changed the Catholic Church's relationship to non-Christian religions.

The issuance of the document proved to be a watershed moment in the relationship between Catholics and Jews in particular. I have never been more conscious of the bridges built since Nostra Aetate than I was this past week at the first Lay Catholic-Jewish Conference held at the Vatican.

Even my participation in the conference is an example of the collaboration called for by the document. The Catholic Diocese of Rochester, Aquinas Institute and the American Friends of the Ghetto Fighters' Museum formed a unique partnership in supporting this conference. Each organization is committed to education about Judaism and Catholicism, as well as fostering mutual understanding and respect among Catholics and Jews. That this type of partnership took place for a delegate from Rochester is remarkable.

Given the visionary local leadership of Rabbi Alan Katz on behalf of the Rochester Board of Rabbis, Bishop Matthew Clark and Jewish Community Federation President Roberta Borg, the Rochester Agreement of 1996 set a standard for how a local community can enact what Nostra Aetate calls for.

This model has filtered down to include meetings of priests and rabbis, Jewish and Catholic educators and those devoted to family services.

Nostra Aetate and the Rochester Agreement have positively impacted the lives of many students.

Through programs such as the International Book Sharing Project, Catholic students at Aquinas Institute for the past nine years have paired with students in Israel for Internet-based study of the Shoah, or Holocaust.

This year, middle school students at Nazareth and Mercy also will be engaged in age-appropriate education about the Shoah with Israeli classes in Modi'in. The nascent Brennan-Goldman Institute for Catholic-Jewish Studies has already provided opportunities for dialogue between Catholic and Jewish students of high school and college age.

What I witnessed in Rome last week was a commitment at the highest level to continue to advance the vision of Nostra Aetate. I emerged confident that the promotion of Catholic-Jewish relations championed by the late Pope John Paul II will continue under the leadership of Pope Benedict XVI.

Forever etched in my memory will be the image of Benedict on Wednesday receiving and holding a menorah commemorating the 6 million murdered in the Shoah. This menorah was given to him as a gift of the conference and was presented by Rabbi Abie Ingber and Gunther Lawrence of the Interreligious Information Center based in New York City. I was close enough to hear the Pope's words as he thanked the conference participants not only for this gift but for the important work being done to advance Catholic-Jewish relations.

Cardinal Walter Kaspar, president of the Office of Pontifical Relations with the Jews, remarked to the conference participants that Nostra Aetate is simply a piece of paper unless people at the grass-roots level work to make the relationship between Catholics and Jews breathe and grow.

Rochester has taken the lead in enacting the very thing that Kaspar identified as that which must happen. The respectful dialogue and cooperation between Catholics and Jews is also a model for deepening relationships with other faith traditions also mentioned in Nostra Aetate. In forging such relationships, people of faith become a united front in promoting shared values in a world where those who espouse those values are becoming an increasing minority.

To quote Nostra Aetate, the Christian faithful are implored to "maintain good fellowship among the nations (1 Peter 2:12) and to live for their part in peace with all..." With continued commitment at all levels to dialogue and a deepening of the friendship between Catholics and Jews, the world will indeed become a better place, one neighborhood at a time, and continuing in our own community.

Connelly, of Webster, is a teacher at Aquinas Institute.

More Zionist Holocaust Hypocrisy

Keep in mind as you read this that there are people in prison in Europe and people around the world who have had their reputation and livelihood destroyed and been physically beaten for not conforming to the received account of the Judaic "Holocaust." House chooses its top lawyer

Published: 10/30/2007

A lawyer active for years in the American Jewish Congress has been named general counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Irv Nathan was named to the post by Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), the House speaker.

"Irv Nathan has an outstanding reputation and record of accomplishment in private practice and in government service," Pelosi said last week in announcing the appointment, which will take effect in November.

Nathan, like Pelosi a Baltimore native, is a past member of the AJCongress' executive committee and has litigated church-state issues on the group's behalf.

In the 1990s he chaired an AJCongress task force on terrorism and the law. Nathan currently is a top litigator for the law firm of Arnold & Porter, and also has served in senior Justice Department positions.

As general counsel, Nathan will take the lead role in congressional battles with the Bush administration over access to records and witnesses related to a number of cases.
