A "Change" of Shades of Zionism

Obama's chief of staff is the son of a former member of the terrorist Irgun gang under Menachem Begin.

Obama's first pick: Israeli Rahm Emanuel as chief of staff

Anshel Pfeffer and Shlomo Shamir - Haaretz

November 06, 2008

A day after his historic election to become the first black American president, Barack Obama stepped into the role of president-elect yesterday, inviting Rahm Emanuel to join his administration as White House chief of staff, Democratic officials said.

Emanuel, a former Bill Clinton adviser, is the son of [Benjamin M. Emanuel] a Jerusalem-born pediatrician who was a member of the Irgun (Etzel or IZL), a militant Zionist group that operated in Palestine between 1931 and 1948.

full article:

All [Rahm, Ariel, and Ezekiel Emanuel] are the sons of an Israeli father [Benjamin M. Emanuel], now a 70-year-old Chicago pediatrician, who passed secret codes for Menachem Begin's underground. (Elisabeth Bumiller, "The Brothers Emanuel," The New York Times, June 15, 1997)

"In the 1940s Benjamin Emanuel interrupted his medical school training in Switzerland to take part in an unsuccessful scheme to smuggle guns from Czechoslovakia to the Israeli underground." ("Rahm Emanuel, Pitbull Politician," Fortune, September 25 2006)

During the Gulf War in 1991, Rahm Emanuel went to "Israel" to "serve as a civilian volunteer."

Let there be no doubt that Rahm Emanuel is still a sayanim whose capacity to serve "Israel" has just grown enormously.

hi guys....
this is Itzchak (again). You probably don't remember me but for a good part of one winter, my entertainment was reading and responding to the garbage here.
I'm now back in Israel after an absence of 20 years. (I was born here.).
Anyways, I'm enjoying your discomfort at the further empowering of the Jewish people. As they say: 'You ain't seen nothing yet..'.

It's a Mitzvah

Now, here's a change we can believe in.

It's a Mitzvah
Transcript: Washington Sketch
A mere 12 hours after claiming the Democratic presidential nomination, Barack Obamaappeared before the American Israel Public Affairs Committeeyesterday -- and changed himself into an Israel hard-liner.

He promised $30 billion in military assistance for Israel. He declared that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Force has "rightly been labeled a terrorist organization." He used terms such as "false prophets of extremism" and "corrupt" while discussing Palestinians. And he promised that "Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided."

Vowing to stop Tehran from getting a nuclear weapon, the newly minted nominee apparent added: "I will always keep the threat of military action on the table to defend our security and our ally, Israel. Do not be confused."

How could they be confused? As a pandering performance, it was the full Monty by a candidate who, during the primary, had positioned himself to Hillary Clinton's left on matters such as Iran. Yesterday, Obama, who has generally declined to wear an American-flag lapel pin, wore a joint U.S.-Israeli pin, and even tried a Hebrew phrase on the crowd.

Obama even outdid President Bush in his pro-Israel sentiments. On the very day that Obama vowed to protect Jerusalem as Israel's capital -- drawing a furious denunciation from the Palestinian Authority -- Bush announced that he was suspending a move of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.

The transformation -- mostly in tone, but occasionally in substance -- might qualify as what Obama likes to call the same old Washington "okey-doke." And the candidate is uncomfortable with such things, as evidenced by his struggle to pronounce the name of the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. It came out as "Mahmoud . . . Ahmin -- Ahmeninejad."

The crowd of 7,000 loved him anyway. He received 13 standing ovations, more than twice the number granted the next act, Hillary Clinton. The AIPAC faithful gushed about his performance as they left the Washington Convention Center. "He doesn't even read! He has an extemporaneous delivery," one woman recounted, evidently unaware that Obama had read every word from a teleprompter.

Obama has his work cut out for him with American Jews, a crucial Democratic constituency that had largely favored Clinton. On the campaign trail, he routinely scolded Clinton for supporting a hard-line anti-Iran resolution that labeled the Revolutionary Guard terrorists. He also vowed to meet with figures such as Ahmadinejad during his first year in office, without precondition, and he voiced sympathy on the campaign trail for the Palestinian cause.

But the AIPAC crowd was ready to forgive now that Obama has the nomination. They stood to applaud for more than a minute when he entered the cavernous hall to music that could have been for a Superman movie soundtrack. He hugged and kissed his way across the dais.

He got right to the "provocative e-mails" that have been spreading lies about him being a Muslim plant and other such things. "Let me know if you see this guy named Barack Obama, because he sounds pretty scary," the candidate said, reassuring the crowd that he is "a true friend of Israel."

Indeed, he almost sounded as if he were Jewish. "I had grown up without a sense of roots," he explained. "I understood the Zionist idea, that there is always a homeland at the center of our story."

Hello again Itzchak.

How's the moral regeneration of mankind going?

Any thoughts on Barack Obama?

Obama,,,my basic impression is that it's nice to have someone as president who can speak english and demonstrate real intelligence...

Anonymous said...

He is fluent and obviously intelligent. Not to mention charismatic and grateful.

Must be a good guy!

For when my outward action doth demonstrate
The native act and figure of my heart
In compliment extern, 'tis not long after
But I will wear my heart upon my sleeve
For daws to peck at: I am not what I am.

(Oops - that should read "graceful".)

and pray do tell....what do you think he is?

Itzchak said...

And obviously I'm impressed by his staffing choices so far...I was born in Israel and have Canadian citizenship as well as I'm an interested observer rather than a citizen...but his ability to inspire people worldwide is quite impressive...
of course the test will be what he actually does.

With Bush, I came to the conclusion that the Creator must have wanted the American army to enter the middle easy chaos for some reason that we may yet see. Otherwise, I could not imagine how intelligent people chose such a patently stupid idiot for a leader for 8 years. It was supposed to be Gore-Lieberman and I don't think the American army would have come here (though there would have been some great Shabbat dinners at the White House...there might still be.)

sent to an israeli-american like itzchak:

I am very grateful for your publicizing the amazing Torah Code that exposes Obama as arch-villian Gog and Magog (as outlined below):

Given that he has chosen Israeli dual-citizen Rahm Emanuel as his chief of staff, I am hoping that Christians finally will come to understand that Gog and Magog will not attack Zionist Israel (the counterfeit of Christ's Spiritual Kingdom), but rather will attack Christendom by means of Zionist Israel itself!!!

When such blatant evil emerges into the spotlight, it gives us, despite the perils it represents, Godly hope that its wicked deceptions finally will be unmasked and that millions of gullible Christians, led by such false leaders as John Hagee, Rod Parsley, and the whole crew of their fellow-travelling Christocrites, finally will recognize that Zionism is Christendom's arch enemy!

I do not wish any harm to come to a single Jew, inside or outside of Israel. Even with the full and clear knowledge that Zionism is THE anti-Christ religion, Christians must respond with mercy and prayer to see Jewish people redeemed from Satan's grasp and to have the blinders removed from their eyes and the veil lifted from upon their hearts.

My intent in publicizing this extremely damaging material is not to slander or to imperil Jews, but to alert Christians that if they wish truly to love Jews in a Godly manner, they must stop pandering to the false and malevolent Zionist agenda.

The only thing Christians should be doing in regard to Zionism is to evangelize equally Jews and Palestinians who live in that region. We must make absolutely clear that our ONLY interest in the affairs of that tragic and war-torn region is limited purely to evangelism and to charitable actions, and that we eschew forevermore any involvement in sordid international power politics. AMEN!

Actually it's Israeli Canadian.. guys should check out the bible codes...lots of great stuff....esp. what they find/don't find about jesus...

Itzchak said...

Zionism is the 'enemy' of Christendom not in the way that you think it is...
Israel basically disregards the Christian's a relief to have it considered an odd irrelevance that doesn't seem very real, and has very little to do with real life.....rather than a dominant culture.
As theChildren of Israel return and get stronger and stronger...
then the christian narrative becomes even more distant mythology...
But it's not like anybody is sitting here plotting anything against Christiandom...
we have much more important things and challenges....

According to his Wiki entry, Mr Emanuel relinquished his Israeli citizenship and is now classed as a US citizen.

Itzchak, if I remember rightly, you believe that the growing strength of the 'Children of Israel' and the increasing impotence of the Church are signs of the dawning messianic age?

So a former Israeli citizen has attained a position of political power in the USA. You believe such developments are part of this spiritual process?

Itzchak said...

You can actually be an Israeli and American citizen at the same time...

The short answer is that everything is part of the unfolding. I could quote from my some source Kabbala texts but the basic understanding is that everything that happens is serving the end result which is the return of absolute good and the dissolving of bad.
I don't think the specifics (formerly Israeli citizen...etc.)are necessarily that significant, but the reality that Israel is deeply supported in the inner sanctum of the White House (without the evangelical agenda) is certainly encouraging.

Itzchak said...

If you're seriously interested in the Torah's perspectives on the messianic process, then try to get a hold of a book by R. Moshe Chayim Luzzatto. It's called 138 Gates of Wisdom. Originally in Hebrew, (written in the 1700's) but I believe an English translation was recently published.

If you're still out there, Itzchak ...

Is this a fair summary of your position?

1) The fulfillment of God's plan is the Messianic Age, when peace shall be upon the earth and all nations shall acknowledge the God of Israel.

2) They will also acknowledge the Jewish people as the true inheritors of the divine mission assigned to the ancient Israelites -- to act as a priestly people among the nations, proclaiming the true God and His moral Law and offering proper ritual worship to the true God.

3) History is moving inexorably towards this earthly Messianic Age. One of the signs of its imminence is an increase in the earthly power of the Jewish people, in particular focused on the geographical Holy Land, and a corresponding decline of the earthly power of opposing religions, notably Christianity.

By contrast, the Catholic Church believes she has taken up the burden of the divine mission of Israel -- she is the new Chosen People, composed of Jew and Gentile yet transcending both.

Again by contrast, the Church believes the culmination of history will also be its end. The end of time will not follow the earthly triumph of good but the earthly triumph of evil, the false peace of the Antichrist, who denies Jesus.

As I mentioned on a previous occasion, what is so fascinating about all this is that identical historical events and developments can be seen as justifying or falsifying either position, depending which side one is on. What you see as the Church's withering into final irrelevance, I see as her Passion, prelude to her glorious resurrection. And your earthly Messiah is my Antichrist.

Itzchak, suppose you live to see everything go horribly wrong? Let's imagine what would be the worst case scenario from your perspective: a global wave of anti-Jewish feeling resulting in pogroms everywhere (including the United States) and a war which results in the destruction of the State of Israel, either by conquest or nuclear obliteration. The Jews are once again a homeless people, dispersed and despised.

Would you see this as just another temporary setback in the "unfolding" and carry on waiting for your Messiah? Or would it make you wonder whether you've backed the wrong horse? I wonder.

Then again, suppose you live to see everything come to pass as you say it will. A world leader emerges who wins universal adulation for his miraculous peacemaking. As he is in some sense a Jew, the rabbis acclaim him as the Jews' long-awaited Messiah. The people of the world rally to the God of Israel, as proclaimed by the rabbis, and accept the Noahide Laws, as interpreted by the rabbis.

The only people who prove recalcitrant are a remnant of Christians who reject the Leader's messianic credentials, just as they rejected Bar Kochba all those centuries ago. Many of these Christians denounce him as the Antichrist.

What will happen to these Christians? Will they be tolerated as an picturesque anachronism, like Indians on a reservation? One problem is that Christians consider themselves under orders from God to preach the Gospel -- but surely proselytizing would not be permitted in the Messianic Age?? There would have to be restrictions on that. And then, of course, there is the fact that the rabbis hold Christianity to be idolatry. Never mind statues and relics, the whose basis of Christianity is the worship of a Man as God -- not to mention the belief that this God-Man manifests Himself in what are to all appearances bread and wine. How could such idolatry possibly be tolerated in the Messianic Age? The abomination would have to be stamped out ... wouldn't it?

If a savage persecution of Christians were launched at the behest of the World Leader, with rabbinical approval, would it give you pause for thought? I wonder.

Itzchak said...

I'm still say alot I'll try to respond to at least some of it.

1)The emphasis here is on universal peace. And universal creator.

2)You imply (perhaps) some sort of subservience to the Jewish people. The Messianic reality is the equality of all humanity and not a hierarchical

3)Read Deuteronomy 30:1-8.
I have seen everything go horribly wrong. I am the only child of Holocaust survivors. Most of my parents' family was murdered in Auschwitz in the summer of 1944.
While your dual scenarios are interesting, it's hard to speculate on a what if. I'm trying to stay within the bounds of past and current reality.

There is an interesting midrash that says that God doesn't care if we're all idolators as long as we're all peaceful with each other. You're welcome to believe that some Jewish guy died for you sins and worshipping him is the path to redemption. You're welcome to believe anything you want. It's the actions that result out of that that are the concern. And the church has been largely a force of repression and mistreatment of many people including their own faithful.

You seem to picture the Messianic age as some sort of Jewish world government dictatorship and that's very far from the understanding that is represented in the teaching.

If you think that a people whose "messianic age" is ushered in by genocide will live at peace among themselves afterward you're delusional. Even if "the Jews" were able to annihilate "the goyim" as rabbinic prophesy states must happen prior to the "redemption," the remaining "Jews" would rob and cheat each other blind. It would be full-on Judaism. The corruption would be worse than anything ever before. There would be a renaissance of rabbinic child rape, stonings and beheadings and with no "goys" to fleece, the rabbis would be fleecing the "Jewish" am haaretz more so than they already do. I fear to speculate how depraved a world of Orthodox Judaics would be if there were no Christian sensibility keeping them in check.

Believe me, "Itzchak" you wouldn't be feasting on Leviathan as your fairy tale religion says. That's only a ruse. The rabbis would be feasting on your children, that is, if you're not a rabbi yourself, which would explain your penchant for lying.

Is the following not normative Jewish belief, then? From -

"The moshiach will bring about the political and spiritual redemption of the Jewish people by bringing us back to Israel and restoring Jerusalem (Isaiah 11:11-12; Jeremiah 23:8; 30:3; Hosea 3:4-5). He will establish a government in Israel that will be the center of all world government, both for Jews and gentiles (Isaiah 2:2-4; 11:10; 42:1). He will rebuild the Temple and re-establish its worship (Jeremiah 33:18). He will restore the religious court system of Israel and establish Jewish law as the law of the land (Jeremiah 33:15)."

Yes, that's right. I'm merely paraphrasing the worse-than-toxic ignorance of the rabbis of Judaism.

... come to Jerusalem ...

Oh, what a gracious invitation! Do you suppose I'd be turned away at the airport like the "apikoros" Norman Finkelstein was, or escorted to a dungeon, drugged, raped and tortured like so many thousands of Palestinians?

... and learn Torah for real rather than the distortions that your life is committed to promulgating ...

Even if it didn't result in imprisonment, torture or death I wouldn't travel halfway across the globe to counterfeit Israel and pay thousands of dollars to some shyster rabbi to learn the "Noahide" version of "Torah."

"A gentile who studies Torah is liable to the death penalty. They should be involved in the study of their Seven Mitzvot ["Noahide Laws"] only." (Moses Maimonides, Hilchot Melachim 10:9, Moznaim Publishing edition)

I know what the rabbis of counterfeit Israel really teach about genocide in the "messianic age."

"Who are these nations of the world? The Messiah will come and scorn them, will condemn them and with a single breath will scatter them ... In the old city of Jerusalem [Arabs are] swarming like ants. They should go to hell, and the Messiah will speed them on their way.

"It is forbidden to be merciful to [Arabs]. You must send missiles to them and annihilate them. They are evil and damnable ... The Lord shall return the Arabs' deeds on their own heads, waste their seed and exterminate them, devastate them and vanish them from this world." (Chief Rabbi of counterfeit Israel, Ovadia Yosef)

"The sin of the murderers, wicked kings of the earth and all the evildoers of the land has been completed. The earth cannot achieve atonement for the blood spilt upon it except through the blood of the one who shed it. The atonement must come: a general elimination of all the present-day cultural machines, with all their falsehood and trickery, with all their awful filth and venom. This entire culture, which exalts itself with instruments of falsehood, must, by necessity, be annihilated from the world, and in its place will emerge a kingdom of the sacred and exalted. The light of Israel will appear, to establish the world with peoples of a new spirit." (Chief Rabbi of pre-counterfeit Israel, Rav Avraham Yitzhak Kook, Orot Ha-Milchama)

what a horrible waste of life energy...

Then what should be said about you, given the amount of "life energy" you've expended here?
