New Knucklehead Billionaires, Same Old Judaism

On the collapse of the economy of the West, the rabbis see greener pastures in Eastern Europe.

This should be read in tandem with Get to Know Alexander Mashkevich.

... many [Judaic] communities of the Former Soviet Union are rolling in oligarchs, who appear to have more money than they know what to do with.

But, luckily, there are plenty of rabbis around to advise them how to invest in their Jewish identity.

Winds of communal change

October 29, 2010

If a conference that took place in Berlin last weekend is anything to go by, Jewish leaders in the West need a rapid Russian language induction course — and an equally rapid re-think of how things get done.

Jonathan Joseph, the South African-born, British-based president of the European Council of Jewish Communities, may not have done the Russian Berlitz course yet but he has certainly got to grips with how things get done.

To the clear consternation of some present in Berlin, Mr Joseph, with the quiet but determined air of someone producing a rabbit out of a hat, unveiled his great prize — a Ukrainian billionaire, Igor Kolomoisky.

ECJC president-elect Mr Kolomoisky, a grizzled 48, turns out to be a shy oligarch who collects German and French expressionist art and — more importantly — has showered millions on his home town of Dnepropetrovsk, transforming it into one of the strongest Jewish communities in the eastern bloc.

But he insisted that Mr Kolomoisky had “a very high business reputation”.

He has made his fortune in metals and private banking and, latterly, has bought two Ukrainian TV stations.

The new president, who did not utter a word in public at the Berlin conference, has apparently pledged “millions of euros to strengthen Jewish life in Europe.”

Such life, if last week’s meeting of the European Conference of Presidents is anything to go by, is undergoing a seismic shift.

On stage at a number of sessions and feted by the organisation’s leadership were a variety of people with, shall we say, difficult reputations.

Alexander Mashkevitch, the Kazakhstan-born billionaire who is president of the Euro-Asian Congress, hit the headlines in September when found on board a 450-foot luxury yacht raided by Turkish police investigating alleged prostitution and human trafficking of minors.

He was not arrested, but questions are still being asked in Israel, where he also holds citizenship.

Vadim Rabinovitch, an ECJC vice-president, has also had his fair share of run-ins with authorities in Ukraine and elsewhere.

President of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress, Mr Rabinovitch is another oligarch who has been accused of a variety of offences, but has overcome them and is a committed figure at European Jewish events.

For the dawning truth may well be that the tide has turned and that old Europe — cash-poor, still struggling with the legacy of the Holocaust, and reeling from the effects of the global financial crisis — is now going to have to swallow its pride and turn to new Europe.

Restitution money is drying up and the much-relied-upon financial support of the Americans, who often took great delight in telling the European peasants what to do, has also dissipated.

In contrast many communities of the Former Soviet Union are rolling in oligarchs, who appear to have more money than they know what to do with.

But, luckily, there are plenty of rabbis around to advise them how to invest in their Jewish identity.

Former B'nai B'rith head admits downloading 9 hours of child pornography for "education"

Ex B'nai Brith head ashamed of child porn

Friday, October 29, 2010

The former director of B'nai Brith Quebec says he's ashamed he had pornographic videos on his computer, but Bill Surkis maintains he's not a sex offender.

Surkis, 71, has admitted to downloading nearly nine hours of videos of men engaged in sexual activity with girls, but said it was because he was curious.

At his sentencing hearing in a Quebec Superior Court in Montreal on Thursday Surkis's lawyer asked him how he would feel if his name were added to the national sex offender registry as the Crown is requesting.

The father and grandfather said he still has contributions to make to his community and he wouldn't be able to make them if he were registered.

The Crown and the defence are recommending Surkis be sentenced to 45 days in jail to be served on weekends, the minimum sentence allowed by law.

They're also recommending he be placed on probation for three years and do 240 hours of community service.

Explicit files were discovered on Surkis's computer when he took it in for repairs in 2008.

The technician contacted Montreal police who uncovered 21 videos and dozens of photos, including images of girls aged six to 13.

Surkis's lawyer said in November 2009 that the videos were downloaded for research reasons.

"The purpose of his viewing the child pornography material [was] to educate himself on the topic of child pornography," lawyer Steven Slimovitch told CBC News outside court. "Then he would go into schools and give lectures on people abusing people."

But, prosecutors argued in court that there was no evidence to back up that claim. Surkis had not been hired by anyone to research child pornography and had not begun work on a study, they said.

In May, Surkis agreed to a plea bargain. In return for pleading guilty to charges of possessing and accessing child pornography, Crown prosecutor Cynthia Gyenizse dropped a charge of distributing child pornography.

Surkis served as the academic dean at John Abbott College on Montreal's west island for 22 years. He also served as the executive director of the Holocaust Memorial Centre in Montreal.

Slimovitch provided the court with eight letters of reference on his client's behalf in which Surkis is described as honest, truthful, and a man of exemplary character.

Gyenizse said although Surkis may be at low risk to re-offend, she said the risk is not zero.

She said the court needs to send a message that when people do what Surkis did they help feed the child pornography industry, creating more child victims.

"Possession will help the people who produce child pornography to produce more because there's a demand for it so there's an industry for it," she said.

Judge Céline Lamontagne will hand down her sentence Dec. 9.

ADL Leader's Grandson Attempting to Incite Muslims

This needs to be read in tandem with 'Noahide Law' Peddling Rabbi Incites the Mob re:Sharia Law. On one side we see a rabbi inciting the West against Muslims and on the other we see the daughter of an Israeli spy releasing a video of the grandson of an ADL leader dressed up as an 'Islamofascist' boogeyman inciting Muslims against the West.

Who is stoking terror and inciting us to make war against it? Who stands to benefit from this contrived 'clash of civilizations'?

American al-Qaida spokesman urges attacks in US

October 23, 2010 - Associated Press

CAIRO (AP) — A U.S.-born spokesman for al-Qaida on Saturday urged Muslims living in the United States and Europe to carry out attacks there, calling it a duty and an obligation. In a 48-minute video posted on militant websites, Adam Gadahn directed his appeal to Muslim immigrants in what he called the "miserable suburbs" of Paris, London and Detroit, as well as those traveling to the West to study or work.

"It is the duty of everyone who is sincere in his desire to defend Islam and Muslims today, to take the initiative to perform the individual obligation of jihad ... by striking the Zio-Crusader interests," he said, referring to Western and Jewish interests.

Gadahn, who has been hunted by the FBI since 2004, also sought to discredit attempts by moderate Muslim leaders to suppress the "jihadi awakening."

He spoke in Arabic in the video, which was made available by the U.S.-based SITE Intelligence Group [which is run by the daughter of an Israeli spy whose questionable evidence of unknown providence is paid and acted on by the FBI and CIA and passed along uncritically by the U.S. establishment press] ...

'Holocaust' Prosecutor Raised to Cardinal

In January 2009 Archbishop Reinhard Marx proclaimed, “Every denial of the Holocaust must be punished harshly.” Now here's a man who really knows how to get ahead in the world! He now will take his place among the 120 of the Knesset of Cardinals (the arrangement concocted by the Ephod-wearing Paul VI) which advises and elects popes.

Germany gets two new Catholic cardinals

October 20, 2010 - The Local

They were among 24 new cardinals named by Pope Benedict XVI in St. Peter’s square, Rome. Cardinals, sometimes known as “princes of the Church,” are advisers to the Pope but their key job is electing the pontiff.

Marx and Brandmüller will be officially elevated to cardinals on November 20. It was long expected that Marx, who has been Archbishop of Munich and Freising for two-and-a-half years, would be made a cardinal.

Since 1914, every Bishop of Munich and Freising has been appointed to the job. Marx, 57, becomes the 10th. His predecessor but one was Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict.

Brandmüller was for many years president of the Papal Commission for History – essentially the Vatican’s chief historian. Because he is 81-years-old, he is no longer eligible to vote in Papal elections – a right that cuts off at age 80.

The conclave that votes for the Pope will now be made up of 120 cardinals. The new appointments will bring to eight the number of German cardinals.

The Chilean Miner Rescue-Fatima Connection

On the topic of the by-the-numbers job in Chile last week which seemed calculated to bolster the Fatima cult, I have one piece of information that the synchromystics left out. The mining town of Copiapo, Chile where the Oct. 13, 2010 rescue was staged happens to be the location of the earliest modern reporting of a UFO sighting, which in the scheme of things seems fitting. Former Israeli Chief Rabbi: "Gentiles" Exist Only to Serve "Jews"

This needs to be read in tandem with Rabbi David Rosen's recent lie to a synod of bishops that Christians have equality in the Israeli state. Rabbi Ovadia Yosef's racial supremacist teaching cannot be disregarded as a marginal view. He's a former Chief Rabbi of the Israeli state. He's currently the leader of the fast growing Shas political party which holds 11 seats in the Knesset and 4 positions in the Netanyahu cabinet. He is widely regarded as a 'gadol' (greatest sage of a generation) of Orthodox Judaism.

Those who labor under the misconception that Sephardic Judaic tradition is somehow less depraved than Ashkenazi tradition should take note that Rabbi Yosef is a Sephardic leader teaching from Sephardic tradition.

Yosef: Gentiles exist only to serve Jews

JONAH MANDEL - Jerusalem Post

The sole purpose of non-Jews is to serve Jews, according to Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, the head of Shas’s Council of Torah Sages and a senior Sephardi adjudicator.

“Goyim were born only to serve us. Without that, they have no place in the world – only to serve the People of Israel,” he said in his weekly Saturday night sermon on the laws regarding the actions non-Jews are permitted to perform on Shabbat.

According to Yosef, the lives of non-Jews in Israel are safeguarded by divinity, to prevent losses to Jews.

“In Israel, death has no dominion over them... With gentiles, it will be like any person – they need to die, but [God] will give them longevity. Why? Imagine that one’s donkey would die, they’d lose their money.

This is his servant... That’s why he gets a long life, to work well for this Jew,” Yosef said.

“Why are gentiles needed? They will work, they will plow, they will reap. We will sit like an effendi and eat.

That is why gentiles were created,” he added.

Yosef’s Saturday night sermons have seen many controversial statements from the 90-year-old rabbi. In August, Yosef caused a diplomatic uproar when he wished a plague upon the Palestinian people and their leaders, a curse he retracted a few weeks later, when he blessed them along with all of Israel’s other peace-seeking neighbors.

Get to Know Alexander Mashkevich

updated Oct 15th:

Orthodox Archbishop Antoniy (left) and EAJC president Alexander Mashkevich

The 'Russian' oligarch, Alexander Mashkevich who strips the wealth and resources from Eastern Europe and Africa into his Swiss bank accounts but "wasn't doing anything amoral" on a boat with 'underage prostitutes' in late September 2010, is (who knew?), a heavy hitter in the interfaith dialogue racket. At an October 2009 World Jewish Congress conference, "PHASE II STRATEGIC FORUM: IN DEPTH ANALYSIS" he candidly offered his thoughts on interfaith dialogue:

"... there is a very important topic – dialog ... I think that maybe the most primitive, but most effective mechanism how we can do it, we have to find a way, we have to push religious leaders to say some words, which are positive to Jews. And we have transfer, we have to deliver these words to simple people. If, let say, Pope, whoever, or Imam or I don’t know who, has to be top level religious people – they have to say good words about Jews. How we could achieve it? It is our target, our job. I will tell you later what we do in this way. But we have to do it not only in a room, we have to do it through media to deliver it to hundreds millions, so when simple people hear what the leaders are saying, believe me, they follow their leaders."

Machkevich gives an example of this 'dialogue' explaining how he bought off Russian Orthodox Church leaders to such a fantastic degree that Orthodox Church representatives bestowed on him the order of Saint apostle Andrey Pervozvanny, Protector of Russia and publicly proclaimed, "God gave to you, to your people this land ["Israel"]. You have no right to give to the Palestinians even one piece of this land.”

"I will tell you an interesting story. I built myself five Orthodox churches. Five. And they are not small, they are big, big – thousands people could come to one church."

Video here:

The nice things that Mashkevich buys as part of his 'dialogue' with faith leaders come with strings attached, as you may have guessed. We saw one such example in Astana, Kazakhstan, July 2009 when Mashkevich and his crony, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev hosted a "World Council of Religions " and brought in Israeli terrorist, Shimon Peres as a surprise keynote speaker. The surprise was not a welcome one. See:

The Pope's Guest Pharisee Lies to Synod

The below is an outright lie. There is no guarantee of equality for Christians or any non-Judaic citizens under Israeli law which Israel Shahak described as, "a weird mixture of advanced democracy and retrogressive discrimination, combined with clumsy attempts to hide the discriminatory reality." However, if Shahak was alive today, I believe his "advanced democracy" assessment would be tempered further by an acknowledgment of the ascendancy of racial supremacist Orthodox Judaism in the Israeli state.

According to Rabbi Rosen's stated standard (which he apparently intends to be applied only to Arab nations), Israeli society is sick.

“The degree to which Christians enjoy civil and religious rights and liberties testifies to the health or infirmity of the respective societies in the Middle East,” said Rosen, adding that In Israel Christians “enjoy full franchise and equality before the law.”

Rabbi David Rosen only Jewish speaker at Vatican Special Synod on the Middle East

EJP - Oct 13, 2010

ROME (EJP)---Rabbi David Rosen, the American Jewish Committee’s international director of interreligious affairs, was Wednesday the only Jewish speaker at a two-week Vatican Special Synod of Catholic leaders on the Middle East.
In his speech, he outlined a Jewish perspective on the state of Christianity and Jewish-Christian relations in Israel.

While this is not the first time a rabbi adresses a Vatican Synod it is the first time a Jewish representative has been asked to address a topic of social and political concern and sensitivity, the AJC said.

Hailing the “blessed transformation” of the relationship between the two faiths over the past 50 years, Rosen stressed that the strongest Jewish-Christian relationships are in the United States.

“The U.S. boasts literally dozens of academic institutions for Christian-Jewish studies and relations, while there are perhaps only three in the rest of the world,” he said.

In contrast, a major hurdle to deepening mutual understanding is the lack of opportunities for Christian-Jewish interaction around the world.

“I confess to having been surprised to find Catholic clergy, and sometimes even hierarchy from some countries, not only ignorant about contemporary Judaism but often even about Nostra Aetate itself,” Rosen said.

At the same time, he noted what he called “widespread ignorance” about Christianity in the Jewish world, notably in Israel.

“Until recently most of Israeli society has been quite unaware of the profound changes in Catholic-Jewish relations,” said Rosen, though he acknowledged that “this situation has begun to alter significantly in the last decade.”

Rosen said the improvement was due firstly to Pope John Paul II’s visit in 2000, and, secondly, to the influx of Christians, part of the wave of immigrants from the former Soviet Union, that doubled the Christian population in Israel.

Initiatives have flourished with “dozens of bodies promoting interreligious encounter, dialogue and studies in Israel, and the Christian presence in these, which include Jews and Muslims in Israel, is disproportionate and highly significant,” said Rosen.

“The wellbeing of Christian communities in the Middle East is nothing less than a kind of barometer,” he said. “The degree to which Christians enjoy civil and religious rights and liberties testifies to the health or infirmity of the respective societies in the Middle East,” said Rosen, adding that In Israel Christians “enjoy full franchise and equality before the law.”

ADL Expands 'Holocaust' 'Education' Workshop

I've been warning of this assault on the minds of children since 2005 to a largely apathetic traditional Catholic movement. I hope traditional Catholics aren't waiting for a sign from The Remnant, CFN, "the Fatima Priest," Bishop Fellay and the rest of traditionalism's leading lights as to the seriousness of this problem.

ADL revises annual Holocaust education programs

By Ryan Torok - Jewish Journal

Oct. 13, 2010

The Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) annual Holocaust Education Workshop, which emphasizes Holocaust education in the classroom and will feature four sessions Nov. 3-10, will, for the first time, overlap with “Bearing Witness,” the organization’s long-running, three-day workshop for Catholic-school teachers, seminarians and priests, which takes place Nov. 7-9.

Attendees from the two programs will come together for an eight-hour intensive learning session Nov. 7 at American Jewish University, where topics will include the “History of Anti-Semitism,” “Guidelines and Methodologies for Teaching the Holocaust,” “History of the Holocaust” and “Israel and Modern Anti-Semitism.”

The last, a new addition to the workshop curriculum, examines the “linkage between what happened in the Holocaust and how Israel is perceived around the world now,” said ADL Pacific Southwest Regional Director Amanda Susskind.

Father Dennis McManus, a consultant on Catholic-Jewish affairs at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, will speak at the “Bearing Witness” program, which, Susskind said, is “a program tailored to the Catholic-school experience.”

Its purpose, Susskind added, “is not just to teach about the Holocaust, but to teach about the miraculous change in the Catholic-Jewish relationship in the last 40 years.”

Father Alexei Smith, ecumenical and interreligious officer for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, said he hopes teachers don’t confuse the two ADL workshops as being in competition with each other.

“I’m a little afraid that one will outdo the other,” Smith said. “I know teachers, [and] they only have so much time to come to programs.”

Earlier this month, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, in partnership with Loyola Marymount University (LMU), similarly revised its 10th annual Southern California Teacher Forum on Holocaust Education. Organizers for the program, which is held at LMU, for the first time developed the agenda with Catholic educators in mind.

Jewish Leader Arrested in Alleged Sex Trade Scheme

October 8, 2010

JTA Wire Service

A Jewish billionaire who heads a branch of the World Jewish Congress was among 14 businessmen and underage [Russian and Ukrainian] prostitutes arrested on a yacht in Turkey.

Alexander Mashkevitch, born in 1954, heads the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. He is a citizen of Kazakhstan and Israel.

The arrests came in late September after a tip to Turkish authorities that the luxury boat was being used for illegal purposes, The Los Angeles Times reported. The Turkish government, which had leased out the yacht, has repossessed it.

The yacht once belonged to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey.

Turkish authorities say they have documents proving that Mashkevitch paid up front to rent the yacht for five days and that the prostitutes were on board, Ynet reported. The boat reportedly was rented out regularly as part of a sex-trade scheme in which passengers would pay several thousand dollars for one night on board.

Some commentators reportedly are saying that the scandal besmirches Ataturk’s name, which is a punishable offense.
Sasha Baron "Cohen" and Alexander Mashkevitch's religion, rabbinic Judaism, sanctions child rape (see: Judaism Discovered pp. 422-436).

Islamic Vatican II Desired, but Unlikely

Rabbi Richard Rubenstein is a 'Holocaust' dispensationalist. A 'Holocaust' dispensationalist is one who makes 'The Holocaust' to be a cosmic cataclysm that shatters all religion, philosophy, art, politics, education, et al, which all must be rebuilt in reference to 'The Holocaust.' Holocaust dispensationalism is based in the kabbalistic view of cosmology (which has it that creation was a cosmic disaster) and history (an unfolding process of relationship between God, 'The Jews,' and ideas, all in a constant evolutionary state of 'becoming'). Rubenstein's 1966 book, After Auschwitz is a founding stone of this fanatical 'Holocaust'-centrism. Far from being isolated to the realm of lunatic Times Square evangelists, this thinking is welcomed in the highest places of academia and religion today including the Pontifical University in Rome. I have shown how one theological expert of the Vatican II Council is a teacher of this 'Holocaust' dispensationalism here:

"Auschwitz: Beginning of a New Era?"

Vatican II Peritus: Because of 'The Holocaust,' Church Must Reinterpret Gospel

One might see the utility of this framework of sanctified paranoia for the subjection of Christianity and ascendancy of Judaism and why Rabbi Rubenstein would like to bring it also to bear on Muslims. One might also note the absence of scholars positing that the Bolshevik revolution or Palestinian 'Nakba' (the persecution of the native population of Palestine that the Israeli state was founded on) constitutes a pivotal point which Judaism should be evaluated in reference to, much less the genesis of a religious dispensation.

Rabbi Rubenstein was a speaker at a recent "first Conference on Muslim Antisemitism" where he lamented that 'dialogue' with Muslims is unlikely to produce fruit such as Judeo-Christian 'dialogue' has produced in Vatican II:
A Vatican II form of “self-reflection” by prominent Islamic leaders is required in order to reduce tensions between Jews and Muslims, said Rabbi Richard Rubenstein, keynote speaker and author of the newly published “Jihad and Genocide” (Rowman & Littlefield). “I do not see this in Islam” ... “I don’t engage in dialogue” with Muslim representatives,” he said. “I think it’s a waste of time. It gives them a legitimacy in the United States that they do not deserve.”

On the other hand, said Rabbi Rubenstein, president emeritus of the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Conn., dialogue with Christians is “a realistic possibility. I’ve spent 50 years in a fruitful dialogue with Christians.”

A Muslim version of Vatican II, a first step to reducing Islamic anti-Semitism, is unlikely, several speakers agreed.

“Vatican II was based on some form of mea culpa,” a Catholic admission of guilt in fomenting anti-Semitism, said Andrew Bostom, editor of “Legacy of Jihad and Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism” (Prometheus, 2008). “Mea culpa is not on the [Islamic] radar screen.”

“There is,” added Steven Baum, co-editor of the Journal for the Study of Antisemitism, “no mea culpa in Islam.” ("No Islamic Mea Culpas," Steve Lipman, Oct. 5, 2010, The Jewish Week)

My study of 'dialogue' with rabbis and their fellow travelers has led me to the conclusion that they're not open to self-reflection, mea culpas, or living by the standards they would impose on others. Their 'dialogue' is a one-way racket.

Berlusconi joke about Jews draws criticism from Vatican newspaper

By John Thavis
Catholic News Service

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- The Vatican newspaper criticized Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi for telling a "deplorable" joke about the Jews and the Holocaust.

Berlusconi, chatting with supporters outside his home, told a joke about a Jew who charged a fellow Jew 3,000 euros a day to hide him in his basement during World War II.

Berlusconi's punch line was: "The Jew says, the question now is whether we should tell him Hitler is dead and the war is over." The joke was videotaped and posted Oct. 2 on the website of the Italian newspaper, La Repubblica.

The Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, said the story "offends both the sentiments of believers and the sacred memory of the 6 million victims of the Holocaust."

It said the prime minister's words were a "sad" example of the uncivil language being used increasingly in politics and public life, a trend recently condemned by the Italian bishops' conference.

The newspaper of the Italian bishops' conference, Avvenire, said Berlusconi's joke was "offensive and inexplicable."

Berlusconi's office issued a statement saying the joke was told in private, and that the responsibility for bad taste belonged to those who publicized it.

Now in The Templars she rehabilitates the devout Catholic knights, exposing ‘the incredible crop of fanciful allegations attributing to the Templars every kind of esoteric rite and belief, from the most ancient to the most vulgar. . . .’ As she rightly points out, the truth is accessible in archives and libraries: it is not impossible to uncover the facts. The result is an excellent, unadorned history that is a pleasure to read.”
